nb 'Plato' - Lounge -::-
As
this boat was conceived from day one as a residential boat, the
lounge/dining area is the largest single space at around 15ft, and
is to be used as the principle accommodation. From the front doors,
we have a tv/video/music cabinet on the port side, and a Morso Squirrel
solid fuel stove on the starboard side. The client has a large collection
of books, so a 7ft long bookcase links the tv cabinet to the settee/dinette
on the port side. The 'L'-shaped settee is upholstered in black
leather and can be used for relaxing in the evening, as a dinette
with the table up (the table is supported on Desmo legs and can
quickly and easily be put up/down), or made up as a guest double
bed. The whole interior of the settee is used as drop-in storage.
The front steps have hinged tops for further drop-in storage. Four
36inch windows provide excellent daylight illumination, with 2 round
ceiling lights and 6 wall up-lighters (all separately switched)
providing light at night. The flooring here and throughout the boat
as far as the engine room is engineered oak, whilst the lining is
solid oak T&G. |
